Notable LGBTQ charities

The Zebra Coalition - The Zebra Coalition provides numerous programs for LGBTQ youth. This includes shelter for homeless LGBTQ youth, counseling, education, medical services, employment, substance abuse treatment, and so much more.

The Ali Forney Center - They provide housing to homeless LGBTQ youth, and have recently been destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. They are in desperate need of funding to repair from damages in order to keep these kids from living on the streets during these tough times. This is a life line for LGBTQ kids whose lives are in danger.

The Trevor Project - The Trevor project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth. They have a 24/7 lifeline to show the community that they are not alone.

Point Foundation - Point Foundation provides scholarship opportunities for LGBTQ students. A lot of LGBTQ students can’t afford college and this can be their opportunity to gain a higher education.

SAGE - Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE) is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ) older adults. They work to achieve a high quality of life for LGBTQ older adults, supports and advocates for their rights, fosters a greater understanding of aging in all communities, and promotes positive images of LGBT life in later years
